Tombstone
Today, we went to an old west town called Tombstone - "A town too tough to die!" It's a world-famous small town and it was built in the 1880's. It's most famous "moment" was the gunfight at the O.K. Corral (That's exactly what you want to name your corral, right?). Wyatt Earp and his two brothers, I think that one of them was named Morgan, (I forgot the other) and their friend Doc Holliday shot a few outlaws named Billy Clanton, Frank McLaury and his brother Tom. My dad and Grandpa watched the reenactment of the shooting at the O.K. Corral, but we took a carriage ride around Tombstone, toured the mines, and watched a comedy gunfight. (It was hilarious, when one of the not-so-bright guys was asked to cover the street while the other guy was trying to rob the bank, he faced his gun towards the street and told it to stay put.) It did take 3 hours each way to get there, but it was definitely worth it. Hannah and Lauren like how the sidewalks were wooden boards and how they were covered, and it was a surprisingly large town. It was also interesting how the mines stretched out under the entire city and went about 300 feet into the ground. (!) Pictures to follow tomorrow - I don't have much time until I go to bed and I need more time to figure out how to put the pictures from my iPod to the computer. Good night!
